About Us
Mercy Hands France (MH France) is the French advocacy and partnership branch of the Mercy Hands Network. The association works closely with Mercy Hands Europe, the Geneva-based entity of the Network, and Mercy Hands Organization, based in Iraq.
Mercy Hands France does not implement field projects directly. Its role is to strengthen advocacy, visibility, fundraising outreach and institutional partnerships in France and Europe for humanitarian, development and human rights initiatives carried out by the Mercy Hands Network and its local partners.
Through its presence in France, Mercy Hands France helps connect European stakeholders with field priorities in countries affected by conflict, displacement, poverty and climate vulnerability.

A word from the President
“In 2026, Mercy Hands France is entering a new and more focused phase within the Mercy Hands Network. Our association now serves as a French and European platform for advocacy, institutional outreach and partnership development, in close coordination with Mercy Hands Europe and Mercy Hands Organization.
Across the Middle East and Africa, communities affected by conflict, displacement, poverty and climate pressure continue to face urgent needs. The Mercy Hands Network supports locally led initiatives in water access, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, education, protection, women’s empowerment and community resilience.
The role of Mercy Hands France is to make these needs visible in France and Europe, to build bridges with institutions, foundations, companies and civil society actors, and to advocate for practical solutions that respond to real priorities identified in the field.
Our work is based on trust, solidarity and partnership. By strengthening advocacy and fundraising outreach in Europe, Mercy Hands France contributes to the long-term capacity of the Mercy Hands Network to support vulnerable communities with dignity, professionalism and impact.”

Milestones
2019 – European Roots
Mercy Hands France was established as part of the Mercy Hands Network’s growing presence in Europe, with the aim of raising awareness of humanitarian needs and supporting international solidarity.
2020–2021 – European Coordination
The Mercy Hands network strengthened its European presence through closer coordination between France, Switzerland and operational partners in the field.
2022 – Broader Advocacy Scope
Mercy Hands France began supporting advocacy for projects beyond Iraq, including initiatives linked to Syria, Ethiopia and other priority contexts where Mercy Hands partners were active.
2023–2024 – Corporate and Project Advocacy
Mercy Hands France contributed to visibility and donor dialogue around projects developed with Mercy Hands Europe, including initiatives supported through corporate engagement such as the Devoteam Foundation.
2025 – Focus on Partnership and Visibility
Mercy Hands France increasingly focused on supporting Mercy Hands Europe through project communication, institutional positioning and advocacy around sustainable agriculture, education, protection and resilience.
2026 – Advocacy and Fundraising Branch
Mercy Hands France is now positioned as the French and European advocacy and fundraising outreach branch of Mercy Hands Europe and the Mercy Hands Network, supporting visibility, partnership-building and donor engagement for field projects implemented by MHEU and local partners.

While Mercy Hands France does not directly implement projects on the ground, it supports visibility and fundraising outreach for initiatives in countries where Mercy Hands partners are active, including Ethiopia, Syria, Iraq and other contexts affected by crisis, poverty and climate vulnerability.

Implemented by Mercy Hands Europe with Agri Service Ethiopia, WAP II strengthens water access, sustainable agriculture, women’s empowerment and community resilience in rural Ethiopia.

In Hawassa, Ethiopia, Mercy Hands Europe and Mary Joy Ethiopia support digital learning opportunities for underserved youth through digital library services, refurbished laptops and educational exchange.

In North-West Syria, Mercy Hands Europe and its partners support olive farmers through sustainable agriculture, solar-powered irrigation and climate-resilient equipment.

With support from the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen, Mercy Hands Organization and Mercy Hands Europe have implemented rule of law and human rights initiatives in Iraq.
